It was the Apple iPad that made the primary splash and lots of other tablets are on their means on following its steps. We guess Samsungs had a better job than Apple bringing it to market. They already had the Samsung Galaxy S in the works and just had to make it bigger. Plus, they didnt have to go to nice lengths explaining what a tablet is and what it does.

If nothing else, the Galaxy Tab makes the S in Galaxy S meaningful. But the Tab itself will not be size XL. In a nutshell, the brand new Samsung tablet is a Galaxy S with three inches added to the display and a pair of megapixels taken away from the camera. The Tab is equipped with the identical 1GHz Hummingbird processor and PowerVR SGX540 graphics accelerator, 512MB RAM, a complete connectivity set and 16GB inside storage. The entire things working on Androids newest - v2.2 Froyo.

And that leads us to suspect that it might not be a battle for survival between those two. There might just be a spot in the sun for both of these cool gadgets after all. But it surelys still too early to tell as we have now an entire lot of touching to do before we make any conclusions. And even when those two do eventually settle in their own corners of the ring, punches will fly quite heavily at one stage or another.

So lets not waste any extra time and see what the Galaxy Tab does in actual life. After all specs are a great place to begin but they dont even begin to tell the whole story.
